Easy access to many different walking tracks. Closest lodge to Cradle Mountain itself. Comfortable bed, lovely gas fired fireplace. No TV. Great breakfast.
Buildings were looking a little old and tired. Only two places to chose from for dinner - one very expensive and the other cheap pub meals - nothing in-between for older families.
Spaciousness, ambience, location, efficiency in usage of facilities (i.e. well-planned), quietness of cabins and their incorporation into the environment
Temperature inside the Lodge facilites - unhealthily hot and stuffy.
Surrounding mountains and environment, log fires, excellent breakfast, well-stocked bar. Warm room and free port was a nice touch on arrival.
Cabin decor was a little tired; also outlook directly onto trees right up to the porch, so a little clautraphobic given the cradle valley location. No wifi connectivity in the cabins, and no ipod docking station (only an old cd player) - which given there was no TV, was a bit limiting.
I loved the location, the layout of the cabins, the opportunity to mix walking, trekking with delicious food in the restaurant and its warm atmosphere.
The whole atmosphere was amazing the location was perfect - my only feedback is for someone that has never been there before what is available i.e. range of shops etc suggestions of what to take with you....
Not a thing cant wait to go back next year....
We loved our stay. We were celebrating our wedding anniversay and on arrival they had left us a lovely bottle of bubbly and delicious chocolates which we truly appreciated. The staff were very helpful and friendly (especially Asha) and the breakfast was amazing. We loved the wildlife that surrounded the lodge and the fire going in our cabin. The beautiful walks are also a feature not to miss! We would definetly go back again and recommend it to anyone who likes a bit of luxury and is in need of some fresh mountain air.
I felt the restaurant was a bit over priced but the food was delicious! Also the price of their wine was very expensive! There is also a bar where you can buy meals that are well priced.
The pencil pine cabins are great
The breakfast and breakfast room is only average for the cost of a stay here.
The location. The facilities - both accommodation and dining. The boardwalks and wildlife en route to dining areas. The welcome at reception.
Our cabin was wonderful if i had of known how good the whole experience would have been we would have stayed at the very least 3 nights as it was we only had 1 night, Cradle Mountain was just breathtaking and to have such a great place to stay just amazing, we had a traditional chalet with spa wood fire and verandah.
The location was superb and the service was excellent
The friendly and helpful reception staff, the cleanliness of the room and the facilities provided in the room, layout of the room and the services provided.
Beautiful lodge with plenty of wildlife at the doorstep.
The cleaner did not provide us with an additional toilet paper role after cleaning our room (we had half a roll left and none spare under the sink). We had to take a roll from the restaurant at dinner.
location, room, staff, snow, fires, lounge, bar, restuarant
Loved the log fire in our cabin, just so good & plenty of firewood outside each cabin. Friendly & very happy staff, would recommend highly. Just disappointed we missed out on the snow....
Nothing, great place to stay, staff need to regularly stoke fires in main lodge as they got pretty low sometimes.
It is unique and has a wildlife experience.
It is very expensive for what you get. You are isolated and dependent on their food services and attached costs.
